summerfoto

on my way to work thursday morning, i got stuck at a train. fortunately, i was right outside of my photo store, and they had just opened up. i picked up my photos and chatted for a few minutes, and by the time i got outside, the train was ending. hoorah for good timing.

this is the single most frightening double exposure i've ever taken:

followed closely by this:

now that i got that out of the way, i have summerfoto, as promised.
this is summer:

as is this:

the underdog, thriving.

summerfoto

i have here some photographs from a sunny day and some photographs from a stormy day.
out of these first two, i'm not sure which i like better.

i took this on the day george monaco broke his car, outside the parking garage. :/

on the fourth, at the east end. the sky wouldn't make up it's mind, it kept spitting on us.

dan, being dan.

foto bonus

anna at the photo store gave me a free bonus photo in with my own photographs. looks like easter.
thank you, anna.
as a sidenote, it's good to know that somebody else is as inept as i am and paying by the photograph.

more old photos

these are some photos i took with the orange tlr otherwise known as blackbird, fly! i took them in april or may, in northampton when i was visiting val and christine.
the first afternoon i was there, val was working so i wandered around northampton, revisiting my old haunts; namely the comic book store and the botanical gardens [editors note: the very first photo uploaded on this blog is from the smith botanical gardens.] the lighting was no good in the comic book store, so i present The Smith College Botanical Gardens.

but first, val's cat:

as promised, the smith botanical gardens, just through the doorway.

a greenhouse within a greenhouse.

sometimes blackbird, fly! gets a funny glare on the lens. i think i like it here.
before all that glare, it was a photograph of the orchid room with a built in above ground pool, complete with fish and frogs.

the next day, valtini and i sought out the sinkhole. we went on an epic adventure and found it down the bike path. i thought it was maybe quicksand or mud you could throw rocks and sticks into, but it turned out that the hill that the bike path was on fell into the river.

where the sidewalk ends.

valtini.

and again.

a different vantage point.

the hillside fell into the river.

eliza and i spent a really nice afternoon together. we got coffee and talked, and then she took me to a rooftop. it was really nice to sit in the sun and watch the people walk by. there's a fire escape across from dandy in the underworld, i don't know how she found it.

this is us.

the view of yon church.
